The Initial Project Request
The Arizona Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) wanted to transition their website CMS from Drupal to WordPress. AAEE also wanted to take the opportunity during this transition to perform key content and functionality enhancements in an effort to bolster membership community building, improve upon fundraising efforts, and gain additional support for their important nonprofit mission.
AAEE continues to retain Made Better Studio for a wide variety of nonprofit marketing services.

Defining Website Content Information Architecture (IA)
By exploring both the needs and desires of the nonprofit organization and their audience together, we fully defined the content and functionality requirements of the new AAEE website. To keep these requirements top-of-mind, we established a sitemap as well as key page wireframes to guide the WordPress website buildout.
Main website navigation is defined by the sitemap structure hierarchy.
Each box within a sitemap denotes a single webpage within a website.
Colored borders denote important members’ only restricted access areas.
Reference symbols for PayPal and Online Form Entry help to callout important user interactions ripe for conversion tracking.

Staying in Touch After Face-to-Face Community Building Events
Made Better Studio designed and printed two different types of nonprofit business cards to stay in touch with the Arizona Association for Environmental Education after events. The nonprofit Board of Directors business cards are personalized with a photo to give a face to the organization as well as to help jog memories after face-to-face connections are made. A general nonprofit contact card was also created with a “Join Us Today!” call to action supported with top membership benefits.
